Judith English Tischler, PhD. is a private chef and cooking instructor with a particular culinary passion. Emphasizing her flair for “stealing” recipes from chefs and hobby cooks from around the world, she has trademarked her name and logo as The Recipe Thief™. Her cooking interests explore the eclectic aspects of locally available ingredients with seasonally intelligent menus and classic modern techniques.

Previously an educational researcher for the University of California, Judith has combined her research, writing and teaching skills with her love of cooking to coordinate classes with a focus on classic preparation techniques, global cuisine, and wine pairing.

Judith is a member of the American Institute of Wine and Food, the International Association of Culinary Professionals, the International Slow Food Convivium, and the California Artisan Cheese Guild. Judith is a standing member of the American Personal and Private Chef Association and holds national certification with ServSafe. Recently relocated from the Santa Barbara area, she now resides in Sonoma County, California with her husband Bob, who is a screenwriter.
